There has been a tremendous response to the snowmen project and I have no clue how many people actually witnessed the short lives of the snow men. I have included what some people have said about the project in addition to various website blogs and TV shows the snow men and I were witnessed on. And trust me I didn’t have anything to do with the videos and pictures showing up all over the internet, even though I knew that would happen. Which was kind of the point of all this. What a weird world we have created on the Internet.

“Art”
Your lack of taste in building snowmen in an untrammeled area sucks. It's a form of vandalism, optical pollution or graffiti, not art. Your effort at commentary doesn't add. Whatever you feel about webcams doesn't give you any license to mar the view.
Fortunately, the warming sun is erasing your effort to impose your values on the rest of us, who don't share them.

Mr. Long,
People all over the central valley enjoyed your snowmen on our newscast. Practically everyday I capture an imagine from the Sentinel Cam and show it on my weather segment. I got lucky and caught you in action. So thousands more people saw you on TV as well as the net. Each day we went back to the cam and shared the affect of the Sierra sun on your creations. I just want to say thanks for your effort. If you plan on doing it again please give us a heads up so that we can give you credit and enjoy the show.
Best regards,

Hello Adam Long,
I am Judy Boyd. I'm a Family Child Care Provider living in Sonora, Ca. In 1968, I lived in Wawona. My husband built the fences around the visitor center on the valley floor in Yosemite. My heart never left Yosemite! Some of my fondest memories are those of life in Yosemite! I love the webcams in Yosemite. When ever I need a break, nothing takes me away to a happier place, more than the webcams in the Yosemite Valley!
I happened to check it out on the day you were building those great snow people. I couldn't tell if you knew you were in view of the camera or not until after the first snowman was built. I couldn't stop checking to see the progress of your creations. (I have to admit, I was hoping you wouldn't make "yellow snow" in view of the camera ~ not knowing one was there) What a wonderful day that was! I wondered if I'd ever know who you are.
How great to find out the grand adventure it truly was for you. How far you traveled, then skiing 20 miles to make this a reality. What a spectacular view. I especially appreciated you never left one footprint in the foreground! It was like the snowmen magically appeared in God's Country. I watched as each section evolved, enjoying every minute! Having two snow people was great. It appeared to be such a wonderful shared experience, two snow people standing there with the majastic Half Dome in site. I had no clue where the camera was situated wondering if it was hidden in a tree, until the shadows told the story of the structure.
Adam, I'm sure you made a lot of people very happy on that day and for the days following as we watched the snow-people ascend to their demise with the warmth of the sun. Thank You for your efforts, you brought a lot of joy to my heart. I'll never forget March 5th, 2007 on the dome.
Sincerely,
Judy Boyd
I just want to thank Adam Long for his snowman, I was so happy to see it on the webcam view (I check it every day ) , it showed that someone was there and made a sign to all the Yosemite lovers all around the world.
Thank you for your efforts Adam.

Hi Adam,
Thank you for the Snow Men at Sentinel Dome. I checked each day from the begining. What a fun adventure.
Thanks again,

Dear Adam Long,
Wonderful stunt -- thanks so much for (a) doing it and (b) writing about it in the Yosemite Association's newsletter. As a right-coaster who loves the Sierras more than any other place on Earth, I just gobble up what's on those webcams (not just the Yosemite ones, but MIneral King, Giant Forest, and whatever other cams I can find), so I really appreciated your short treatise on the attractions of webcams in wild places.
Kudos to Adam and the making of his snowmen. I was watching his progress all day! It was pretty funny. He did a great job. I found myself wishing I could be up there making snowmen too. Yosemite is so beautiful and we are big fans of the webcams there...its our computer wallpaper, we look at it everyday. He is not the first skier we have seen up there in winter. It is a pretty spot, and Adam had a great day for it. Thanks for the snowmen.
